I lived on this earth now 32 years and honestly it took 32 years to figure out my Purpose. At first, I thought becoming an accountant was my purpose because I loved numbers so much. However, after being laid off from the company I worked for the longest, I decided to pursue my own business. Went to school for barbering until flirting became overwhelming for me. Moreover, I am a very talented hairstylist and makeup artist and although women are picky, I serve quality work and it allowed me to work for myself and remain in this industry. As a mother, having a sitter became an issue. It’s not so easy starting a business when you still have a permanent job as a mother. Therefore, business was just not picking up enough for the bills or suiting for my kiddos sitting arrangements. Then I realized how much of a people’s person I am, so I turned to customer service and tried bartending. It gave me the opportunity to still be my own boss because my services determined how much money I made. Needless to say, but once again flirting became overwhelming for me. Overall, I took chances and big risks, but I never give or gave up.

Every year I do a self-evaluation. I like to know what I was doing and what were my achievements that prior year. If my life looks exactly like the prior year, that determines I hadn’t made any progress. For me, that is dissatisfying and unrewarding. If this is the case, then I self-reflect and evaluate my environment.

That year came of dissatisfaction and nothing to celebrate. This moment appeared to me in my 32 years of living. When you think you are doing good and all seems as if everything is falling into place, however, all that you projected is not happening; then sweetie, you may just discover you are not fulfilling your true life’s purpose. When we are living in our purpose all goes as planned, but when we are not, many lessons occur. I experienced many lessons in my years, but none like the lessons when I decided to fulfill my life’s purpose.

Losses, I took many losses between investments, family, friends, and associates. I can teach you how to become an introvert from an extrovert all while still being a people’s person. We’ll get into that later on, but for now less keep our mind on these lessons I endured on my journey.

In these lessons, I learned my flaws and weaknesses. Insecure, dependable, over caring, sorcerer, too honest, perfectionist, unstable mentally, physically, and emotionally, unfocused, half stepper, procrastinator, inconsistent, fearful, and the list can continue, but some of the main characteristics you may identify with in your current or prior troubles. I needed to own up to this truth for two reasons; to accept accountability and take back my power. We should never be offended by the truth when we take accountability and make changes. Change is always good, and I needed a change.

But what does change look like and how do we change? Change may not feel beautiful, but truthfully it is, and how to change is to unlearn what you were taught. This may be cliche, but my story and how I stumbled across my Purpose because of the lessons I learned and actions I took on seeing a change, are not.

If you were to ask me why my story stands out or why I should tell my story, then I will be glad to let you know. I might be just like you, or I might not be, but I know there are so many people in this world not fulfilling their true life’s purpose and not living their destiny. My story stands out because I’m doing things they teach us not to do or things they will not teach us to do. That is what you believe you can’t do for whatever your reasons are, and I would tell you, you can do it. Believe in you and drop those reasons and/or excuses!

I speak my truth to let you know you are not alone, and I can help you fulfill your life’s purpose so that you may live in your destiny. My purpose was within those things I pursued in life, but those things were never actually my purpose. You never really know what you’re capable of until you actually do the work and by doing the work you discover your true life’s purpose.

I want to end off with saying I am proud of you! You have made it far to this point. You have even taken quality time to read something that has already significantly changed your mindset and I am grateful you are intrigued.
